Toronto App Inc. (“we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information when you use the Toronto mobile application (the “App”). A Privacy Policy informs users about data collection, storage, and usage practices for mobile apps and must be accessible at all times. Apple also requires a clear Privacy Policy URL in App Store Connect for apps that collect any personal data.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Account & Profile Data
- Registration Details: Name, email address, profile photo.
- Preferences: Answers to group‐joining questions to tailor your experience.
2.2 Location Data
- Precise Location: GPS-level if you opt in, used to show nearby groups and events.
- Approximate Location: Inferred from IP address if precise permission is declined.
2.3 User‐Generated Content
- Group & Chat Messages: Text you share in public/private groups and one‐to‐one chats.
- Feed Posts & Comments: Any media or text you post in the global feed or within groups.
2.4 Device & Usage Data
- Technical Details: Device model, OS version, unique device identifier, push notification tokens, crash logs.
- Analytics: Feature usage, session length, interaction patterns (aggregated and anonymized for product improvement).
3. How We Use Your Information
- Core Functionality: Enable group management, map display, posting, and chat features.
- Personalization: Suggest groups and events based on your preferences and location.
- Communications: Send transactional messages (e.g., account verification, password reset) and optional push notifications (you can opt out at any time).
- Security & Fraud Prevention: Detect and prevent unauthorized access or abuse.
- Analytics & Reporting: Understand usage trends to improve the App (all analytics data is anonymized and never linked back to you personally).
4. Information Sharing & Disclosure
4.1 Within the App
Groups & Chats: Other users see your display name, profile photo, and any content you share.
4.2 Service Providers
Third‐Party Vendors: Hosting, analytics, push notifications. They’re contractually bound to confidentiality and may not use your data for other purposes.
4.3 Legal & Safety
Compliance: We may disclose information to comply with legal obligations or to protect rights, safety, and property.
4.4 Business Transfers
Acquisition or Merger: In such events, your data may be transferred; we will notify you before it becomes subject to a different policy.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal data only as long as necessary to provide the App’s services, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes. After that, we securely delete or anonymize it.
6. Security
We implement industry-standard safeguards (encryption in transit and at rest, access controls) to protect your data. However, no system is 100% secure.
7. Children’s Privacy
The App is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we’ve inadvertently done so, we delete it promptly.

8.1 GDPR (EU Residents)
- Access & Portability: Request a copy of your data.
- Correction & Deletion: Ask us to correct or erase your personal information.
- Restriction & Objection: Limit or object to certain processing activities.

- Know & Access: Request details of categories of personal information collected, sources, purposes.
- Delete: Ask us to delete your personal information, subject to certain exceptions.
- Opt-Out of Sale: Although we do not sell data, you have the right to request that we do not sell it.
- Non-Discrimination: You will not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
9. International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in countries outside your location, including Canada. We ensure appropriate safeguards (e.g., standard contractual clauses) for transfers outside the EEA or UK.

We may update this Privacy Policy at any time. Significant changes will be communicated via the App or email and the “Last updated” date below will be revised.
