How we can help
Smart POS Manager is a desktop point of sale (POS) and inventory application for small businesses—built for speed at the register and clarity in the back office. This page answers common questions, lists system requirements, and explains how to reach us for purchase or technical support.
Installation & updates
- Mac App Store: Install and update Smart POS Manager from the Mac App Store. Updates are delivered through the App Store like other Mac apps.
- First launch: Complete the in-app onboarding steps to configure your business profile, currency, and preferences.
- Permissions: If the app requests access to files, network, or printing, grant only what you need for your workflow (for example, printing receipts or optional cloud backup).
System requirements
- Platform: macOS (see the Mac App Store product page for the current minimum version).
- Hardware: Any Mac that officially supports the required macOS version.
- Network (optional): Internet access is not required for core POS and inventory features. Optional features such as cloud report upload require a connection when you choose to use them.
- Peripherals (optional): Barcode scanners and receipt printers compatible with your Mac and the app’s printing workflow.
Frequently asked questions
- Does Smart POS Manager work offline? Yes. Core sales, inventory, customers, cash tracking, and local reporting are designed to work without a constant internet connection.
- Where is my data stored? Your business data is stored locally on your Mac under the application’s user data area. Optional cloud features only run when you configure and use them.
- Can I use more than one computer? The app supports multi-computer operation on a local network when configured (for example, one system acting as a server and others as clients on the same LAN). Setup depends on your network environment.
- How do backups work? You can create local backups and restore from them through the app. Follow in-app guidance and keep copies in a safe place (external drive or your preferred backup strategy).
- What reports can I generate? You can produce business reports (including Excel and PDF exports, depending on version and settings) for daily review and accounting handoff.
- I forgot my PIN / access control. Use the recovery or reset options described in the app and documentation. If you are locked out and have no backup, recovery may not be possible—protect your PIN and keep backups.
Privacy & data
We design Smart POS Manager so your operational data stays under your control on your systems. Features that touch third-party services (for example, optional cloud upload) only operate with your authorization and configuration. For App Store purchases, Apple’s standard privacy disclosures and payment processing apply.
If you need a standalone privacy policy URL for your organization or the store listing, publish your policy separately and link it from your marketing site or App Store Connect as required.
